  • This course will provide students with the fundamental concepts, principles, and ideas needed to understand how business is operated and managed in a rapidly changing global environment, which is needed for success in business-related careers. This course also provides job readiness skills and soft skills that are critical for success in any workplace setting.

  • This course introduces students to the concepts of graphic design and related careers. Students will acquire fundamental skills in image creation and management procedures and techniques using Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator CS5. Students will create, revise, optimize, and export graphics for video, print, and web publishing. This is a two-semester course.

  •  

    Students will prepare for careers in digital communication as they learn to develop personal and professional videos applying appropriate certification and copyright standards.

     

  •  

    Students will master real-time editing for professional digital video productions.

It is time to claim exemptions for 9th-11t, you may do this Thursday and or Friday with your 4th hour teacher. Straight A exemption forms are available in the front office. They are due back to Fisher or Megli by 3:08 Friday.

Senior cap and gown picture will be Thursday, May 17th at 10:45 in the big gym. Boys must wear their shirt and tie and girls cannot have on a neckline that shows with the gown on.

The Yukon choir department will hold auditions for the 2012-13 year on May 17th and 18th. Please see Mr. Chapin or Mr. C for audition music and details.

2012 Volleyball Tryouts will be held on May 17th in the Auxiliary Gym from 4:30-7:30. All girls need to arrive 30 minutes prior to 4:00 to sign in and get warmed up. Everyone has to have a current physical completed and turned into the Athletic Office by May 17th. You cannot try out without a physical on file. Thank you!!

Summers Driver’s Education sign ups have begun, the 1st session is June 19, 20 & 21st, ,the 2nd session is July 24, 25 & 26th, from 7:00-5:00 each day, @ Independence Elementary School, 500 E. Vandament. You MUST be 15 years of age by Jan. 1, 2012. Cost is $300 in district & $325 out of district. You will need to pick up your enrollment forms either in the front office or from Gail Rutherford. All forms, copy of birth certificate and money are due back to Gail Rutherford or to the Yukon Community Education office located at 600 Maple Avenue.

Students taking AP U.S. History need to pick up their text books and summer assignments in Mr. Block’s room N145.

Seniors: Sign up sheets for transcripts to be sent are on the bulletin board outside the counselor’s office. If you want us to send your final transcript, please go by and sign up.

Students: Schedule changes for the 2012-13 year will only be done until May 23rd.  Changes will not be made after this date.  If you need to make a change to your requests for next year please fill out a blue slip to see your counselor.

Yearbooks distribution is TODAY, Seniors and Juniors 5th hour, Sophomores and Freshmen 6th hour, books will be handed out in front of the gym on the second floor, and then students will be sent to the gym. They are $72.00 TODAY only, after today they will be $85. Get yours now!

NHS juniors and new inductee sophomores, there will be a run off election for Vice President between Sachin Saju and Sierra Watts.  Congratulations to Grant Hale for being elected as the 2012-2013 President of the National Honor Society! Elections will be in Ms. Evans' room, S213, TODAY only.

Pizza wedges and gourmet foods are for sale both lunches in the Rotunda TODAY. Go by and get yourself some great food TODAY.

The summer reading assignment will be available for pickup in Mrs. Kellogg's room (S230) after May 15th.

Students: Please make sure your enrollment packet has been turned in at the Counselors Office. If your packet is missing after May 15th you will NOT be enrolled in school for 2012-13. You will be required to re-enroll at the enrollment center in August before you will be allowed to meet with a counselor to make a schedule.

Seniors, if you would like a Gold or Silver honor medal to wear at graduation, pick up a form in the Main office, Counseling office or Sra. Ward's Rm. N143.  Gold medals will be given to students with a 4.0 GPA, Silver medals for a 3.5 GPA.  This GPA is for the SCHOOL YEAR. Deadline to turn in form is TODAY.
